An animation I did for some friends of mine from Athens GA.
The band is called Immaterial Possession.
I finally got around to painting the screen for the floral thistle design I drew up!
If this post is still current, the home made bags I printed it on are available on etsy.
I'm still new to this stuff, so I'm learning as I go. This type of fabric has some ridging which makes printing a little challenging, there is some pixelation that happened unavoidably, but all in all I'm very pleased with the results, and learned a lot!
Designing, and printing Even a dreamer posters and totes.
Here we are, following up with Tori Heller's Even A Dreamer campaign,
Check out the incentives in progress!
Here you can see what the image looks like once it has been printed.
I am starting to realize I need to brainstorm ways to dry all these bags and posters at the same time without putting all the rooms in my house out of commission for a day.
Once the bags dried to touch, I consolidated them so I could make dinner. Its rewarding to see them all lined up like that. I totally winged it, and it worked! I'm excited for the next project!
Growing up my mother was a seamstress, and she was terrified to let me use her sewing machine... so it hasn't been until my late 20's that I've mustered up the confidence to attempt sewing. What better time to learn to sew than when you're under pressure to whip up a bunch of totes for your friend's indie-go-go incentives?
Tori Heller and I have been hard working to get the animation for her Album fund raising together.
Here is Tori helping set the scene- which which will eventually be a nautical boat sailing across the sea.
Below you can see how we rigged up the individual waves to move between slats:
These Thich Nhat Hanh inspired MBCY T-shirts and Totes I designed and screen printed are now available at Global Breath Studio!
Without the mud there can be no lotus. Without challenge there is no reward. The primordial ash of existence is the substrate from which the phenomenal world comes forth. When we work through the mud and muck of our mind, body, and spirit, we usher in the lotus of understanding, tranquility and enlightenment. Thats what its all about. I am glad to be surrounded by so many great teachers and friends who hold this in such authentic ways. I was also really pleased to have the opportunity to illustrate this beautiful flower.
I Just want to remember the short life of my friend Adam and I's spooky rock band
Here are some I-Pad quality video recordings of some of our practices. Ahh... crunchy gnarly recordings of sloppy songs we never properly recorded. I don't care. I still love them.
One day we will play again!!!
I had a series of dreams (probably inspired by my interest in anatomy and physiology,) where a mentor of some sort would point out to me the names of muscles and bones in the body. In case you were wondering- The Phantom Indicator refers to a part of the index finger which presumably has the capacity to reveal the presence of phantoms.
After several years of sitting in a folder, I finally pulled out and finished the animation I'd started at an animation workshop. Wha-lah! Moving pictures! It sure does take a lot of drawings, a lot of paper, to get just a little footage. Looking forward to making more.
